LOVE in the classroom

An English teacher normally brings his/her books and markers to the classroom. He/she might bring CD’s and Teachers’ Guides, too. These are the things a teacher needs to teach. But are these enough? I’m not sure… the most important thing a teacher has to teach is “the LOVE for teaching”, and “the LOVE for students”, and above all, “the LOVE for COMMUNICATION”.
You may find how to teach a conversation in a Teachers’ Guide. Your skill at speaking and understanding a language may give you power to analyze and comprehend a dialogue. But this may never make you a TEACHER. If you forget to bring your “LOVE” into your classroom, you are losing and wasting everything else. An hour and twenty minutes is a VERY short time to teach. All we can do in this very short time is to show our “love for learning and communicating” to our students. And I believe this “Love” will do the rest. Students practice and enjoy learning and open their eyes to new horizons. This, perhaps, may give us the privilege of being called a “Teacher”.
