A short story (By myself !!!)

THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA – THE END OF THE STORY

After returning from the sea, the old man, he had left his boat in the beach with a skeleton as the only souvenir from the great hunt of his, the great fight he had with the lovely giant fish. Silenced and depressed, he crept into a lonely corner and shut his eye lids in a light sleep. He dreamt of the fish, not in the prison of the sea, but in the blue skies filled with cotton-white clouds. He dreamt of himself, floating weightlessly by his lovely fish, not as a furious hunter, but as a soul mate who had just found his other half. What a mysterious feeling! He was flying with his fish; without one single wound of sarcasm or accusations from the mob. Here, at this altitude, he was not alone anymore. His fish, the symbol of him being alive, was with him. “I wish this dream would never end!” he whispered. Not an impossible wish to grant, the god of the sea, the great Poseidon, was awakened to this sincere prayer. So this wish was granted for the poor man and he became a part of the dream, as he wished to be; immortal and unforgettable.

The next week, when the good-hearted boy was giving his old friend a regular visit, he found, to his surprise, that there was nothing in the old man’s cottage, except a skeleton of a giant fish at one silent corner.
